Wish Wellness was very busy in May and June, as I had the privilege of participating in several events with Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH) for the 2023 Take Action Initiative. This initiative aims to bring LA communities together around mental health and empower you and those around you to find support for themselves and others.
At every event I attended, I was amazed by the enthusiasm and dedication of the individuals and programs working to serve our communities and make mental health services and resources more accessible. These impactful events included Movie Night on Skid Row and PRIDE at The Abbey in West Hollywood. Throughout all of them, I distributed thousands of bottles of my calming aromatherapy blends. It was a joy to interact with each person and witness their faces light up as they smelled and took home my handmade blends.
Aromatherapy can complement traditional mental health treatments like medication and therapy. It can also be utilized as a tool for mindfulness and self-care practices. It was exhilarating to see the joy on people's faces when they received something that could potentially provide a natural method for supporting wellness, particularly in the realm of mental health.
While aromatherapy has the potential to promote mental health and well-being, it should always be used alongside evidence-based treatments and under the guidance of a qualified healthcare provider.
